The beautiful Victorian precinct of Oamaru bathed in the soft glow of night (lights) – all dressed up for the party… albeit 150 years later. Mel’s distinctive bokeh paintings are like a soft, blurry, nostalgic look back in time – celebrating the preservation of the past.
These bokeh paintings are all a form of surrender. Embracing the softness that comes with taking sharp focus off our surroundings – allowing the light to come through, letting go of the nitty gritty detail and enjoying the beauty of the bigger picture.
