Fernbird / Mātātā
Cast glass wall scultpure by prominent NZ glass artist, Luke Jacomb of Lukeke Design. These timeless artworks display mesmerising shadows, catch the light beautifully, and form enchanting wall installations in groups, as well as individually. Every angle you see these from reveals breathtaking detail, highly collectable!
The latest addition to the growing flock is the Mātātā/New Zealand Fernbird. A secretive wetland dweller, the Mātātā is a threatened species currently in population decline. More often heard than seen, these sparrow sized birds have a distinctive split tail and chevron patterned feathers.
The Fernbird is of particular significance to inc design store as this new design was first launched here by Luke Jacomb April 2026; allowing inc customers to be the first collectors in the world for these highly coveted artworks!
