From the artist:

Face the Sunlight is part of my Sage Advice Collection was born from a journey through trauma to a better place.

We all have periods of stress, anxiety and calamity in our lives. What helped me move through that period is the basis for my Sage Advice Collection.

I have a favourite quote from Albert Camus, a mid 1900's French philosopher, author, dramatist, journalist, which paraphrased says something like .... even in the depth of winter, there is within me an invincible summer. Face the Sunlight is my visual representation of that. That even in the depths of despair I could make the choice to face the sunlight. Both the sunlight we receive from the sun, and the sunlight in my life bought to me through the caring actions of others.
The ombre effect, moving light to darker tones, is a nod to the multiplier effect of feeling the sun on your face, standing still and really feeling the warmth of that heavenly body. For me the absolute change to mind and body that results in facing the sunlight is real and meaningful. It's a documented medicinal reality that sunlight and vitamin D heal the human mind and body. Get yourself some vitamin D today. It also speaks as a reminder to me that one act of kindness has its own multiplier effect and we should gather those little kindnesses offer to us and treasure them.
The use of textured paste is deliberate to give the dimensional effect that allows for (sun)light and shadow play as we find on a glorious sunny day. Its secondary meaning for me is the gathering up of the kindness around us so that even on these days without sun we feel the warmth of human kindness.

While I attribute my own meaning to all my artworks I am super happy for the viewer to find their own happiness and meaning in the pattern, colour and texture. These elements in and of themselves provide calm, restful and restorative properties to one's decor.
