From the artist:
Part of the "Woven" series, "Ebb and Flow" is a textured original painting reflecting the natural rhythm of movement and change. Its neutral tones and warm browns create an earthy foundation, while a flowing streak of bronze copper metallic leaf adds contrast and depth.
The textured surface, built with layered strokes, gives the piece a woven appearance, enhancing its tactile quality. The metallic elements catch the light from different angles, creating a visual effect that changes as light levels change.
Inspired by the continuous motion of water seen in the braided Tasman River that flows from Aoraki ("Cloud Piercer") Mount Cook and forms Lake Pukaki, and the cyclical nature of life, Ebb and Flow brings a sense of movement and balance to your space. The metallics are used to symbolise the precious nature of water and within that the life force that we and all living things rely on.
